The Offside Trap

Using the offside trap can be very important defending device. When the other team is attacking and about to make a pass, hold the upwards arrow until a set of four options appears press up again to enable the offside trap. Your whole back-line will move up-field 3 or 4 yards, and if timed currently catch the opponent offside. This is risky and takes time to perfect.

Jockeying

In certain situations – eg, when a player is in the penalty box or on the sidelines about to cross – it is not always best to fly into a player with a wild slide tackle. Instead, what you should do is jockey the player to win the ball this is done by holding LT (360) or L2 (PS3). When you get close to the player with the ball the computer will automatically tackle them for you.

Side-step before shooting

A simple step to the side could be all you need to score. When you are about to shoot tap the ball sideways and take one last step before shooting – this will open up one side of the goal for you to slot the ball home.

Easy Goal

Simple goals will often be the decisive moment between losing and winning Fifa matches.
One way of getting these easy goals is intercepting a goal kick when the keeper only taps the ball out. Run infront of the opposition’s last defender when this happens, and if the keeper plays a short pas, intercept it and take an easy goal. Remember not to do short goal kicks yourself when strikers are near-by.
